8-Bit Dragon Quest RPGs also spoofed in Tokyo Zokei's site for high school applicants

Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: The Tokyo Zokei University, a Japanese university that specializes in art and design, launched a special website on June 1 to promote its Open Campus event to prospective high school applicants. The site not only presents the campus as an intricate 8-Bit recreation of the first Dragon Quest role-playing games, but also includes cameos by four student lookalikes of the Sakuragaoka High School Light Music Club from kakifly's K-ON! manga and anime (in the center right section of the campus map).

Zokei University's alumni include Oscar-nominated director and current Zokei instructor Koji Yamamura (Mt. Head, Franz Kafka's A Country Doctor), mechanical designer Kunio Okawara (Gundam, Votoms, Gaogaigar), manga creator and character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Evangelion, Nadia - Secret of Blue Water, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time), director Mahiro Maeda (Blue Submarine No. 6, The Animatrix, Genius Party), character designer Takuhito Kusanagi (Grandia, Blue Submarine No. 6, Samurai 7), scriptwriter Shoji Yonemura (Mt. Head, Guin Saga, Monster Rancher), director Toshifumi Takizawa (Dirty Pair, Samurai 7), and Sunrise president and producer Kenji Uchida (Zeta Gundam, The Big O, Code Geass). The university's Open Campus event will run from July 17 to 19.
