Dai Sato, the Japanese screenwriter whose credits range from Cowboy Bebop to Eureka Seven to the Tekken: Blood Vengeance film and the live-action film of Casshern, appear at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Saturday, July 23. Sato is due to appear on a panel about the development of the Tekken franchise and Namco's other fighting games series. Called "A VIP Look at the Upcoming Entries in Namco Bandai's Multimillion-Selling Fighting Games," the panel will run from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Room 25ABC.

The panel will also have game director/producer Katsuhiro Harada and two of Tekken: Blood Vengeance's voice actresses, Carrie Keranen and Cristina Vee. There will be a sneak preview of the film. The session will include presentations on the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations and Soul Calibur V games by producers Hiroshi Matsuyama and Hisaharu Tago, respectively. Namco Bandai VP of marketing Carlson Choi and community manager Richard Bantegui will lead the discussion.

Sato's credits include writing on Ergo Proxy, series script editing on Eureka 7 (for which he also scripted twelve episodes), and contributing to the scenario and series script editing of the original video anime series Freedom. He also co-wrote "The Package" segment of Halo Legends and has scripted episodes of series including Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (both seasons), Samurai Champloo, Wolf's Rain, and Eden of the East.

Comic-Con International announced in May that Tsuneo Goda, the creator of the Japanese mascot character Domo-kun, will attend this year's event.
