News Dallas' AnimeFest to Host Animation Director Yoshimitsu Yamashita

The organizers of AnimeFest 2012 announced on Friday that animation director and animator Yoshimitsu Yamashita will appear as a guest of honor at this year's convention. This will be Yamashita's first anime convention.
Yamashita served as the chief animation director for Kids on the Slope, House of Five Leaves, and fifteen episodes of Hyouge Mono. He has also worked as the animation director for Bleach, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, and Madlax, and has served as an animation director for episodes of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, Samurai Champloo, and CANAAN, among others. He has also handled key animation for titles such as Michiko and Hatchin, Blood+, and Monster.
AnimeFest 2012 will run from August 31 to September 3 at the Sheraton Hotel in Dallas, Texas. The convention will also host director Koji Morimoto (Akira, City Hunter), animator Tatsuyuki Tanaka (Akira, Bubblegum Crisis), and manga creator Arina Tanemura (Full Moon O Sagashite, The Gentlemen's Alliance†).
