Compile Heart's Fairy Fencer F Opening Movie Streamed

StylipS' Maho Matsunaga performs game's opening theme "Resonance World"

Compile Heart (Neptunia games) began streaming the opening movie for its Fairy Fencer F PlayStation 3 role-playing game on Wednesday. The video features the opening song "Resonance World" by StylipS member Maho Matsunaga. The game's ending theme "Hikari" will be performed by singer ChouCho (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet).

The story is set in a world where devils and goddesses fought a devastating war in the distant past. While much time has since passed, there are warriors known as "Fencers" who wield the "Fury" weapons left by the goddesses and devils in the modern age. A young man named Fang (Ryota Ohsaka) has just become a Fencer when he comes to the aid of a girl named Tiara (Kaori Ishihara). Tiara also happens to be Fencer, and their encounter pulls both of them into the return of the war between the devils and goddesses. Residing in Fang's Fury is a Fairy named Alyn (Rumi Ookubo) who lost her memories.

Other characters include Cui (Arisa Noto), Harler (Nao Tōyama), Babas (Masaki Terasoma), Souji (Yūki Ono), Pipin (Asami Shimoda), Ryushin (Daiki Nakamura), Shalman (Takuya Eguchi), Effole (Emi Nitta), Karin (Ayaka Ōhashi), Rolo (Yuka Iguchi), Gald (Takatsugu Awazu), Marisa (Kayano Ide), Paiga (Youji Ueda), Vivia (Naoko Yasuda), Mariano (Rui Tanabe), and Kurara (Moe Toyota).

Fairy Fencer F is an upcoming role-playing game from illustrator Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D), musical composer Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon, Guin Saga, Ah! My Goddess: The Movie) and his Earthbound Papas band, and the team behind Compile Heart's Neptunia games. The PlayStation 3 game is the first effort from Galapagos, Compile Heart's new brand for RPGs catering to Japanese players.

The game will ship in Japan on October 10.
