The first promotional video for the anime adaptation of Yūji Terajima's Ace of Diamond baseball manga streamed during a Niconico livestream event for the upcoming anime on Tuesday. The promotional video features Tom-H@ck (K-ON! opening theme composer) and Masayoshi Ōnishi's opening theme song "Go EXCEED!!"

The anime's cast includes: Ryota Ohsaka as Eijun Sawamura, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Satoru Furuya, Natsuki Hanae as Haruichi Kominato, and Takahiro Sakurai as Kazuya Miyuki. Additional cast members include Yoshimasa Hosoya, Shintarō Asanuma, Yuuki Ono, Daisuke Namikawa, Masakazu Morita, Nobuhiko Okamoto, and Wataru Hatano.

The story of the original manga follows Eijun Sawamura, a pitcher who joins an elite school with a brilliant catcher named Kazuya Miyuki. Together with the rest of the team, they strive for Japan's storied Kōshien championships through hard work and determination.

MADHOUSE and Production I.G are producing the series. Mitsuyuki Masuhara (Blade, Kobato.) is directing, and Takeshi Konuta (Library War, Blood Lad) is handling the series composition.

The anime will premiere in Japan on October 6.

Terajima launched the manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2006, and Kodansha published the 37th volume this month. The manga won the shōnen category of the 34th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2010.

Update: Replaced video with official video from Pony Canyon.
