Boruto's team trains under Sasuke as the enemy Momoshiki threatens village

The offical website for Boruto -Naruto the Movie- began streaming the first full trailer and the second teaser trailer on Wednesday. The trailers feature the new generation of ninja — in particular, Boruto with his teammates Sarada (controlling a Sharingan) and Mitsuki as disciples of Sasuke for the Chūnin Exams. They also show Momoshiki, the mysterious man who launches a surprise attack on the Hidden Leaf Village. The trailers feature the theme song "Diver" by the rock band Kana-Boon.

Narrator: In the place where leaves dance, the fire still burns. The fire casts shadows over the village, and the leaves bud once more.
Boruto: Shadow Clone Technique!
Sasuke: So, you're Naruto's son?
Boruto: Take me as your student! I'll defeat my dad!
Text: The Chūnin Exams start!
Sarada: Boruto, you idiot. It's me who's going to become the Hokage!
Text: A new generation fights.
Boruto: I've never wanted to be the Hokage. If you were going to become this kind of parent, then you should've said so from the start!
Text: Danger comes to the village.
Naruto: Sasuke, I entrust him to you.
Text: An inherited resolve...
Text: Theme Song: "Diver" by Kana-Boon (Ki/oon Music)
Boruto: Isn't there an easier way to get it?!
Sasuke: Naruto could do it.
Boruto: Why do you worry so much about me?
Sasuke: You're more blockheaded than him. And also...
Naruto: You've done well. I've been able to watch over you as you grow.
Boruto: Useless old man.
Text: Chief Production Supervisor: Masashi Kishimoto
Man: You can't run from us.
Text: A great masterpiece from the original creator.
Naruto: The times may change, but the essence of being a ninja hasn't.
Sasuke: I believe that.
Boruto: How much does it take to go this far?
Sasuke: You're my student.
Boruto: And my son.
Sasuke and Naruto: Go, Boruto!
Text: The young child (Boruto)...

Naruto: When you watch the film, you'll get a special manga and a full-color version of the last chapter!

Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine gave a tagline for the film, "The curtain rises on the legend that will surpass all!!" The tagline in the visual above is, "Go beyond the legend. Take the reins of the new era."

Weekly Shonen Jump describes the story of the new film as follows (Note: the below summary contains spoilers for those who have not finished reading the manga):

Boruto is the son of the seventh Hokage Naruto who completely rejects his father. Behind this, he has feelings of wanting to surpass Naruto, who is respected as a hero. He ends up meeting his father's friend Sasuke, and requests to become... his apprentice!? The curtain rises on the story of the new generation written by Masashi Kishimoto!

Yuko Sanpei is playing Boruto (pictured top left in image below) and Kokoro Kikuchi is playing Sarada (pictured top right). Junko Takeuchi is returning to play Naruto Uzumaki, and Noriaki Sugiyama is returning to play Sasuke Uchiha.

Ryūichi Kijima plays Mitsuki. Atsushi Abe plays Inojin Yamanaka, the son of Sai and Ino. Saori Hayami plays Himawari Uzumaki, the daughter of Naruto and Hinata. Hiroki Yasumoto plays Kinshiki, the obedient subordinate of the mysterious man Momoshiki.

Kensho Ono plays Shikadai Nara, the son of Shikamaru Nara and Temari, and Daisuke Namikawa plays Momoshiki.

Original Naruto manga creator Masashi Kishimoto is credited with the original story, script, and character designs, as well as the chief production supervisor, for the film. Hiroyuki Yamashita (Naruto Shippūden episode director, Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie animation director) is directing the film, and Ukyō Kodachi (Chaos Dragon, Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road) is collaborating with Kishimoto on the script.

The rock band Kana-Boon is contributing their "Diver" song as the theme song, after contributing their "Silhouette" single as the opening theme of the Naruto Shippūden television anime

The film will open in Japanese theaters on August 7, and tickets will go on sale on June 27. Theatergoers will be able to choose one of two fans designed by Masashi Kishimoto as a special gift. The "Uzumaki Version" will feature Naruto and Boruto and the "Uchiha Version" will feature Sasuke and Sarada. The fans are limited to 100,000 units.

People who watch Boruto -Naruto the Movie- in theaters throughout Japan in August will receive 2 million copies of an official book — one with a brand-new one-shot manga by original manga creator Masashi Kishimoto. The Naruto Hiden Zai no Sho Official Movie Book's title indicates that the book is a spinoff of the Naruto: The Official Character Data Book series.

The book will debut the manga short "Naruto ga Hokage ni Natta Hi" (The Day Naruto Became the Hokage) that Kishimoto personally drew. The story episode did not appear in the main Naruto manga's original run. The book will also include the main manga series' 700th and final chapter in full color.
