Fuji TV revealed on Friday that it is producing a live-action series adaptation of Sai Asai's Anata o Korosu Tabi (A Journey to Kill You) boys' love manga that will premiere on its Fuji TV On Demand (FOD) streaming service on September 26. Fuji TV unveiled a trailer for the series that also previews the series' theme song "Tsurezure" (Ennui) by Daito Yamamoto.

The series stars Masanari Wada (right in visual above) as Kinji Kataoka, and Hiroto Takahashi (left) stars as Ren Odajima. Other cast members include Shintarō Yūya as Keito Dōi, Kaito Hori as Kaiho Asahi, Keisuke Teranaka as Genichirō Kumakura, Shunsaku Kudō as Seizō Dōi, and Maju Ozawa as Keika Dōi.

Daisuke Kamijō (live-action I Hear the Sunspot) is directing the series, with scripts by Natsuko Takahashi. Masaki Takao is composing the music.

The yakuza crime BL manga centers on Kataoka, a young lieutenant in a yakuza group, and his underling Odajima. When Kataoka does something drastic that puts the heat on him, the group tells him to take a trip and let things cool down, with Odajima trusted to take care of him. Odajima does everything for Kataoka, from groceries to sex. But Odajima is also trusted with another grim task: to kill Kataoka.

Akita Shoten published the manga in one compiled book volume in February 2020. Akita Shoten is also re-releasing the manga in two volumes. The first volume shipped on February 25, and the second volume will ship on September 25.

Seven Seas Entertainment previously published Asai's Alice in the Country of Clover: Knight's Knowledge and Alice in Twin World: Love, Storms, and Flower Clocks manga, part of the larger Alice in the Country of Hearts franchise, which originated as otome game visual novels.
