This year's 18th issue of Shonengahosha's Young King magazine announced on Monday that manga creator Shōhei Harumoto died on July 27.

Harumoto had been recovering from an illness.

Young King will reveal future information regarding Harumoto's Crazy Blood Line Now (pictured right), a manga about a woman on a motorcycle, which the magazine is currently serializing.

Harumoto launched Crazy Blood Line Now in Young King in 2020. Shonengahosha published the manga's first compiled book volume in October 2022.

Harumoto launched the Kirin motorcycle racing manga in Motor Magazine's Mr. Bike BG magazine in 1987, but later chapters and the Kirin: The Happy Ridder Speedway spinoff have since run in Shonengahosha's Young King magazine. The original manga ended in 2010, while The Happy Ridder Speedway ended in 2016. NTT Solmare offered the original manga in English on Nokia's Ovi store for mobile phones in 2010, although the manga is no longer available.

The manga inspired a live-action film in 2012.
