Won-dal Baek's webtoon Old Man's Dream will be adapted into a stage play set to premiere at the LG Art Center Seoul U+ Stage from January 9 to March 22, 2026.

The story follows Bomhee, who runs a small art studio, and her encounter with Chunae, an elderly woman who comes to have her own portrait painted. Their meeting unfolds into a touching exploration of life, memory, and human connection. The webtoon has been praised for its emotional depth and relatability, earning a reputation as one of the most moving “life webtoons.”

According to production company Soo Company, the stage adaptation will depict universal themes across generations — from the lives of seniors facing the end of life, to a middle-aged daughter with distant parents, and a teenager struggling to understand her stepmother.

Veteran actors Young-ok Kim, Yong-lim Kim, and Sook Son will share the role of the spirited grandmother Chunae. The role of Bomhee, the art studio owner who rediscovers her long-forgotten dreams, will be played by Hee-ra Ha, Il-hwa Lee, and Eun-jung Shin.

The staff stated the play Old Man's Dream aims to deliver a warm and emotional theatrical experience that captures the essence of the beloved webtoon.

The original webtoon, created by Won-dal Baek, was serialized on Naver WEBTOON in 2023.

Currently, an official English version of the webtoon is not available. WEBTOON has released Baek's The Artist Salieri webtoon in English.
