Meet the Contestants' Ghoulish Gourds! — Part 1

The entry window is closed and we've got a whole pile of pumpkins to mull over before we decide the BIG winner. Anime News Network staff and guest judge Ciarán Strange will look over the entries to find which gourd is the perfect pick for our Cryptmaster's Prize worth over US$1,000 in anime! Didn't get first place? Don't despair! We'll also be picking a first place prize, and five runner-ups. Two consolation prizes will be awarded at random, too!

Joining us this year as a guest judge is none other than voice actor Ciarán Strange! Ciarán has caught attention for his stellar performance as Luca Esposito in Astra Lost in Space. He's also lent his acting chops to Infinite Dendrogram, Hatena Illusion, and ACTORS: Songs Connection. Outside of the anime world, Ciarán is the voice of Lorelai in the Borderlands 3 video game, the author of of Black Tie and its sequel Red Tape, and the host of his own video game Twitch channel TheCoffeeCommander.

Approaching nearly a grand in value, the cryptmaster prize will go to the very best in squash craftmanship. The lucky winner will take home:

Square Enix Manga and Books has generously provided 10 manga and light novel volumes (much better than tissues, right?) to give away two random entries! Not confident in your carving ability? Try your best and you could still walk away with some exciting stories to read!

The manga and light novel prize pack includes Wandering Witch - The Journey of Elaina, Soul Eater: The Perfect Edition, Hi Score Girl, and more!

Unless otherwise stated, giveaways are limited to one entry per person/e-mail address/mailing address/ip address/household; duplicate entries will be disqualified. Contest is open to any and all residents of the planet Earth and neighbour parallel dimensions, but prizes will only be shipped within the continental United States and Canada (elsewhere, you have to arrange to have it sent to someone living in the appropriate area, and they can send it to you.) Winners' names will be posted on AnimeNewsNetwork.com, their mailing addresses will be provided to our shipping agent of choice (ie: USPS) and no one else. Winners' addresses and e-mail addresses will be erased once the prizes have been shipped. Non-winners' names, e-mail and mailing addresses will not be given out to any one and will be erased when the winners have been confirmed. Non-winners will not be contacted, spammed or harassed in any way. We reserve the right to retroactively add new rules when and how we see fit.
