Bandai Namco Files 'Tales of the Best' Trademark in Japan, Square Enix Files 'Dimension W'

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Bandai Namco Entertainment filed a trademark on October 14 for "Tales of the Best" in Japan. The company also filed a trademark on October 13 for "Balloon Bash" and "Brave Scramble," and on October 14 for "Mitsukete!"

The company previously filed similarly titled trademarks earlier this year for "Tales of Berseria," "Tales of Orfellia," and "Tales of Alestia." Bandai Namco Entertainment eventually announced Tales of Berseria for the PS4 and PS3 as the latest game in its Tales series of role-playing games.

Tales of Zestiria shipped on January 22 in Japan. Bandai Namco Entertainment shipped the game for the PS3, PS4, and PC in Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia on October 16, and in North America on October 20. The Western release of the game includes both Japanese and English audio tracks.

Additionally, Square Enix also filed a trademark for "Dimension W" on October 8. Yuji Iwahara's Dimension W manga is getting a television anime adaptation in January. The trademark was for video games, computer software, and various merchandise. Nintendo also filed a trademark for "Splatoon" — which is the title of its Wii U shooter game that shipped in May — on October 13. The trademark listing included various clothing and other physical merchandise as well as game merchandise such as controllers.
