Wavve, a Korean streaming platform, revealed the cast and storyline of the webtoon-based live-action series ONE: High School Heroes on May 27.
The production presentation for ONE: High School Heroes was held on May 28. The main cast was in attendance including Jung-ha Lee, Do-wan Kim, Sang-ho Kim, Joo-ryoung Kim, Hee-je Yoo, Jun-seo Yuk, and Sung-kyun Lim.
ONE: High School Heroes follows Ui-gyeom (played by Jung-ha Lee) — a top-ranking student who suffers under the oppressive control of his father — and Yoon-gi (played by Do-wan Kim), who seeks to harness Ui-gyeom's innate fighting skills. Together, they form a masked vigilante group known as the “High School Heroes,” taking on the hierarchy of school violence with explosive vengeance.
The series is based on the webtoon ONE, which has amassed over 65 million views and won the 2020 “Today's Our Comics” award.
Jung-ha Lee previously starred in another webtoon-based live-action series, Moving.
The series began streaming on Wavve on May 30. A release outside Korea has not yet been announced.
Currently, an official English version of the ONE webtoon is not available.
