Participants of the photobooth activity had the opportunity to enter a post-and-win giveaway for Pokémon plush toys. The events also included special Pokéstops for the Pokémon GO app.
The Pokémon Company previously stated that the Pokémon Mela is the first in a series of initiatives planned to enhance the presence of Pokémon in India. Corporate officer at The Pokémon Company Susumu Fukunaga stated at the Pokémon Festivities event on October 16, "We want to take our events to many other cities and not just Tier 1 cities." Fukunaga had stated the company wants "to create more and more opportunities to reach out to the audiences in India and find a place in their everyday life. We believe that on-ground events are key to fostering meaningful interactions with existing Pokémon fans, while carving a way to connect with new ones." The event also saw the launch of the Pokémon-themed festive Yakult gift packs.
