CAPCOM is holding the BSR48 character popularity poll to celebrate the release of the Sengoku Basara 3: Utage (Sengoku Basara 3: Party) action-adventure game, which shipped on November 10 in Japan. Fans can use a voting ticket, bundled with the PlayStation 3 and Wii game in limited quantities, to select their favorite warrior from 48 Sengoku Basara characters until January 10. The BSR48 campaign mimics the AKB48 pop idol group's member popularity polls and contests.

The winning character will star in a drama CD, feature in a special video clip, and appear in a commercial online. The top seven Sengoku Basara characters and one of the 10th, 20th, 30th, and 40th-ranking characters selected at random will also appear in a drama CD.

The BSR48 website offers character profiles, and promotional videos for the characters began streaming on November 10. CAPCOM posts one new character video almost everyday. The Oda Nobunaga video will be available beginning on Tuesday.

Sengoku Basara 3: Utage includes a playable version of nearly every non-playable character who appears in the Sengoku Basara 3 game as well as the new character Matsunaga Hisahide. As a sequel to Sengoku Basara 2 PlayStation 2 game, Sengoku Basara 3 (Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes) shipped in Japan on July 29 of last year.

The video game series has inspired two anime series, and a film, which opened in Japan on June 4.
