Persona 4 Arena Fighting Game's Opening Streamed

Region-locked PS3/Xbox 360 game to ship with dual audio in N. America on August 7

Japanese video game news website Famitsu began streaming the Persona 4 Arena fighting game's opening animation sequence on Friday. Atlus will release the game in Japan on July 26 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, and Atlus USA will release the game in North America on August 7.

The game, titled Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena in Japan, is a 2D-animated fighting game using characters from the Persona role-playing game series. The game was originally released in Japanese arcades this past winter.

Atlus USA announced last week that the PlayStation 3 version of the game will be region-locked. Atlus USA's version of the game will work in North and South American regions. However, the game's online functionality will not be region-locked, allowing players to play against other players worldwide. The North American release will also include "both the original Japanese voice work and an all-new English audio track, a feature easily toggled in the settings for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 system releases."
