Cozy Room Creates Secret Gaming Base for Adults

posted on by Eric Stimson
Enjoy your hobbies in total seclusion

Cozy Room, a Japanese furniture designer, has provided an innovative solution for anyone whose gaming center just isn't secluded enough. Kakureya ("hiding room" in Japanese) looks like a massive, bulky cabinet from the outside, but on the inside, there's a comfortable chair, shelves, drawers, a monitor hanger, and an LED light. The chair rolls out on wheels, allowing you to enclose yourself in a cozy gaming space — or study area, or movie theatre, or whatever use you choose to make of it.

Collection racks allow you to store your baggage as well as your collection of choice.

Monitor hangers let you enjoy your favorite movies — perhaps while enjoying your favorite tipple.

Kakureya's enclosed space blocks out outside distractions, allowing you to work or study in peace.

The solitude Kakureya provides also makes it a great way to relax with air fresheners and soothing music.

Kakureya measures 120 centimeters wide, 125 centimeters long, and 150 centimeters tall (or 3'11'' x 4'1'' x 4'11''). As it is made to order, it costs ¥798,000 ($7,823) — but if it is mass-produced, the price will drop to ¥398,800 ($3,910). Production and delivery take three months.
