Celebrate 40 Years of Hana to Yume at Namjatown

Namco's indoor theme park Namcotown will hold a special collaboration event with manga anthology Hana to Yume from March 7 to April 5 to commemorate the latter's 40th anniversary. Although their recent hit Kamisama Kiss gets pride of place, the event will also spotlight some of Hana to Yume's other noteworthy manga: Patalliro! (1979), Please Save My Earth (1987), Nante Suteki ni Japanesque (1989), Baby & Me (1992), Angel Sanctuary (1994), Koucha Ouji ("Tea prince", 1997), Fruits Basket (1998), Gakuen Alice (2003) and Akatsuki no Yona (2009).

Namja Gyōza Stadium, a restaurant specializing in themed gyōza, will have dishes honoring (left to right, top to bottom): Kamisama Kiss's Kurama, Patalliro!, Nante Suteki ni Japanesque, Please Save My Earth, a teddy bear from Baby & Me, Gakuen Alice and Akatsuki no Yona.

Fukubukuro Dessert Yokochou, a dessert cafe, will also offer items designed to evoke old manga: a crepe and a gelato in honor of Kamisama Kiss, an Angel Sanctuary parfait, pancakes with tea for Koucha Ouji, and an actual Fruits Basket. Prices at the eateries range from 580 yen ($4.87) to 830 yen ($6.97).

NAMJATOWN will also host a museum showcasing the above Hana to Yume works, with character panels from each of the manga to take pictures with, a timeline of Hana to Yume history, original artwork, classic scenes chosen by the writers and editors, and first chapters to read and recall good memories with. A special exhibit dedicated to Kamisama Kiss will showcase original artwork and scripts from the anime.

Key ring charms of Kamisama Kiss characters with cat ears will be available, as well as three sets of clear files, each with a clear file from a different Hana to Yume manga. The key charms will cost 880 yen ($7.39) each, while a clear file set costs 800 yen ($6.72).
