Splatoon Wigs Available as Items in Miitomo

On April 20, the Miitomo official Twitter account posted the tweet below, which advertises two Splatoon wigs — one a boy's, one a girl's — as items in Nintendo's new social networking service. The catch? Twitter users had to retweet the tweet first. 10,000 retweets would mean the boy's wig would be available, and the wigs would both be available after 20,000 retweets.

Splatoon fans duly came out in force, and 20,000 retweets were collected by April 22 from the Japanese Twitter account alone. Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe also posted the Tweet—each collecting a fair number of retweets in their own right. The wigs will be available only from April 27 to May 29.
Wigs aren't the only Splatoon gear surfacing on Miitomo on April 27. A special Splatoon-themed stage will appear on the minigame Miitomo Drop then, allowing players the chance to win these clothes.
These squid pins will be available in the Miitomo Shop.
And My Nintendo points can be redeemed for these ink tanks.
Splatoon characters are also available as small plushies. Squid Girl has had a long crossover with Splatoon, which has led to the megalomaniacal cephalopod appearing as a costume in the game.
