The life-size golden statue of Saint Seiya's Taurus Aldebaran created for the 30th anniversary "Complete Works of Saint Seiya" exhibition has just been completed. Shown below, it stands at 210 cm tall (just under 6'11") and is both the tallest and heaviest out of all of the 12 planned statues. As previously reported, the life-size golden statues will depict the "Gold Saints" of Saint Seiya, who are the highest ranking saints and the protectors of the Zodiac, and will be the centerpiece of the exhibit.
The statues of Gemini Saga, Leo Aiolia, Virgo Shaka, Scorpius Milo, Sagittarius Aiolos, and Aquarius Camus have already been completed. Aries Mū, Cancer Death Mask, Libra Dōko, Capricorn Shura, and Pisces Aphrodite are currently in production. The following photographs of the Gemini Saga statue, which was unveiled in March at AnimeJapan 2016, have now been made available to the public.
The statue of Taurus Aldebaran can be seen prior to the exhibition at the HMV LaLaport Fujimi in Saitama from June 3-12 and Gemini Saga can be seen on the 7th floor of the HMV Ando BOOKS TOKYO in Shibuya from June 3-12.
The 30th anniversary “Complete Works of Saint Seiya” exhibit will be on display from June 18-29 on the 2nd floor of Tokyo Akihabara UDX from 12:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 19:00 on Saturdays.
Since the release of Masami Kurumada's original manga in 1986, Saint Seiya has become a popular multi-media franchise, including video games and movies as well as anime and manga.
