Wrestlers Hiroshi Tanahashi & Togi Makabe Star in Garo: Ashura Special

TV Tokyo's acclaimed franchise Garo's 10th anniversary series Garo: Makai Retsuden, which began airing April 8, will feature a special, Garo: Ashura-, on July 1. The special will be a collaboration between New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and the Garo world and will include a competition between NJPW's Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tōgi Makabe. The contents of the special have not been stated, however the fact that the newly released poster clearly depicts the dream collaboration has gotten fans excited already.
Hiroshi Tanahashi comments that "From the start I wanted to be a hero and I wanted to be cool so I became a pro wrestler, but when I heard this story I thought "this is it!" Makai Knight is a fitting role for me."
The stage is set for the Garo X NJPW battle, the only thing to do is wait and see who comes out victorious.
New Japan Pro Wrestling are collaborating on the new Tiger Mask television anime project with Toei Animation. According to the organization, its wrestlers will appear in the project under their own names. They plan to release the anime not only in Japan, but also stream it throughout the world.
