Pokémon Singer Sachiko Kobayashi to Appear in Gothic wa Mahō Otome Mobile Game

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Enka singer Sachiko Kobayashi is regularly referred to by her nickname "Last Boss," which might be why she appears in so many video games. The singer performed in the multi-platform video game Phantasy Star Online 2 last year. She received the nickname in response to her grandiose stage costumes, which have the size and detail a player would expect when facing the final boss in a JRPG. She maintains popularity with otaku, if her Comiket sales are any indication.

Kobayashi's latest video game appearance is in Gothic wa Mahō Otome (The Magical Maiden is Gothic) mobile game. The shooting game lets players make contracts with magical girls to take back the world from demons. Kobayashi will appear not only in the game, but also at various promotional events. Game developer Cave will announce the details during its live stream on NicoNico and YouTube on Friday.

The game has been downloaded 3.5 million times since its launch in 2015.

Gothic wa Mahō Otome is currently collaborating with the television anime Magical Girl Raising Project until Sunday.
