Crunchyroll's 3rd Annual Anime Awards Set for February 16

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Crunchyroll's third Anime Awards show is on for 2019. The anime streaming website opened the official page for the third iteration of its awards program and simultaneously announced that staff will reveal this year's judges and categories on December 17, followed by open voting on January 11. The winners will be announced on February 16 and fans can livestream the award ceremony the same day.

The Anime Awards 2017 ceremony took over the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood on February 24. Made in Abyss won Anime of the Year and My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness won Best Manga of the year. There were a total of 17 categories, however Crunchyroll's website notes "we've refined our list to focus on the elements that fuel the most passion among our thriving community," so it's possible we'll see some category change-ups this time around.
