Put a Sega Saturn in Your Pocket with Activo's CT10 Sega Saturn Redesign

posted on by Victor Chaves
Unfortunately, does not include the Segata Sanshiro theme

A new version of Activo's music player CT10 model is getting a 90's nostalgia transformation into the black and white versions of the classic Sega Saturn console. On January 12 2019, the newly designed player will be sold in limited quantities in Japan, specifically only 500 per color.

On top of the redesign, the music players will come with three pre-installed music pieces that are famous from the console's release. The classic Model 1 Black version of the Activo CT10 will include the Sega Saturn boot sequence, "Game Start” from Virtua Fighter, and "Super Sonic Racing” from Sonic R. The Model 2 White version will also include ”Operation! Imperial Floral Assault Group” from Sakura Wars, ”DREAMS DREAMS” from NiGHTS Into Dreams and the boot sequence tune.

Virtual YouTuber Cyber Girl Siro was hired on as Activo's product ambassador and is shown holding one of the White models in a promotional image. The image references the original console's "Segata Sanshiro" commercial campaign where a martial artist crashed dance clubs and even kids' baseball games unannounced. The rough Sanshiro would then judo throw his unsuspecting victims before telling them they had to play Sega Saturn.

Beyond the device itself, the packaging of the Activo CT10 will be modeled like the original Sega Saturn console boxes and are attractive enough to display separately. Amazon.co.jp listings indicate a 44,800 yen price tag (US$404), so look to saving up if you're interested.
