Wit Studio Produces 15-Second Anime Shorts for Google Play

Wit Studio revealed on Monday that it is producing a short anime series for Google Play titled Google Play de Chō Musō?! Tensei Shitara Android User datta (Becoming Overpowered With Google Play?! Reincarnated as an Android User). Google Play will stream a new 15-second episode every week until July 21, for a total of six episodes, with the first episode available now.
The anime centers on a gamer protagonist who one day wakes up and finds himself in "Google Play World," where skill in games are highly valued. Soon, he acquires an Android smartphone, and attracts the ire of other gamers.
The anime stars Daiki Yamashita as Andō, Shiori Izawa as Guma, and Marina Inoue as Nekomaru.
Yasuhiro Akamatsu (Attack on Titan 2018 and 2019 episode director) is directing the series. Masaaki Yuasa (INU-OH, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, DEVILMAN crybaby) collaborated on the visual concepts, and KURO designed the characters. E o Kaku PETER (Belle, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX) drafted the mechanic concept designs, and Tomoaki Okada and Kazuo Nagai are credited for concept design and art design. Ayaka Nakamura is the color key artist, while Kunihiko Inaba directed the art. Takeru Yokoi, Hiromu Ōshiro, Toshiyuki Yamashita, Tomoya Kamijō, Takashi Ōde are the compositing cinematographers, and Kasumi Shibata edited the shorts. Masafumi Mima directed the sound, and Eve performs the theme song "Insomnia."
