Cineplex, Canada's largest motion picture exhibitor, is now offering tickets for screenings of Hideaki Anno and Studio Khara's anime film Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha) throughout the country on January 20, 2011.

Funimation has confirmed with ANN that the film will be screened, but notes that "some locations and dates need to be confirmed."

Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance is the second film in the four-film remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series. The 2009 film continued the story of a group of 14-year-olds entrusted with giant biomechanical units to protect Earth from mysterious Angels. While the first film hewed closely to the original television series, the second film went farther in a different direction and features one all-new major character, the pilot Makinami Mari Illustrious (Maaya Sakamoto).

Last month, the distributors Eleven Arts and Funimation confirmed their previously announced plans to release Evangelion: 2.0 theatrically in North America.
