Funimation to Stream Letterboxed Dragon Ball Z

posted on by Daryl Bunao

The North American anime distributor Funimation announced via its Twitter account that the upcoming Dragon Ball Z streams will be using the "uncut eps akin to orange season [DVD] sets." The streams will include the option to view the show with either English dubbing using American broadcast music or with English subtitles featuring original Japanese music. The broadcast's aspect ratio is also expected to crop the original 4:3 screen to appear widescreen.

The Dragon Ball Z streams are set to launch on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET on the following websites: www.dragonballz.com, www.dragonballzkai.com, www.funimation.com and www.hulu.com. The DBZ stream precedes the One Piece simulcast on Saturdays at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Thanks to TheHTRO for the news tip.

Update: Aspect ratio corrected. Thanks, jacksonh.
