Hayashibara plays Niko, magical girls' guide to picture book world in October 27 film

A new video previews Eiga Smile Precure: Ehon no Naka wa Minna Chiguhagu! (Smile Precure! the Movie: Everyone Is All Mixed Up Inside the Picture Book!), the Smile Precure! magical girl anime's film spinoff that will open in Japan on October 27. Like the previous videos, the new video features Niko, a character played by guest voice actress Megumi Hayashibara (Evangelion, Ranma 1/2, Cowboy Bebop, Slayers, Mardock Scramble).

The Smile Precure! series began airing on Japanese television on February 5. It tells the story of five legendary warriors called Pretty Cures (Precures) who have been gathered by a fairy from Märchenland, where characters from fairy tales are mingled together. The magical girls' goal is to collect the Cure Décor, tokens of happiness that have been stolen and hidden away when Märchenland was attacked by the Bad End Kingdom, a land where fairy tale antagonists gather.

The film transports the Precure magical girls into a world inside a picture book. As a mysterious inhabitant of the picture book world, Niko guides the magical girls.

Advance tickets went on sale on July 14, and while supplies last, participating theaters will offer them with a "stylish tote bag" in either pink or blue. The front of the bag shows the magical girls, while the back shows them in princess form. Plus, moviegoers will receive a Miracle Wing Light, also while supplies last.
