Crunchyroll, Anime Expo to Host Yamada-Kun & the 7 Witches Creator Miki Yoshikawa

Anamanoguchi concert with unannounced guest also planned

Media service Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will bring manga creator Miki Yoshikawa (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan) to this year's Anime Expo. Yoshikawa will have an interview and Q&A session on the Crunchyroll stage, as well as a live drawing session. She will also host a panel and an autograph session at the convention.

Yoshikawa debuted with her Glory Days manga in 2003, and worked briefly as an assistant for Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail). She then published the original Yankee-kun to Megane-chan one-shot manga, before turning it into a full series. The manga inspired a live-action television series in 2010.

Yoshikawa is currently serializing her Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches manga, which was recently adapted into a television anime that premiered on April 12. The manga also previously inspired a live-action television series in 2013.

Crunchyroll will hand out Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches posters during the convention, which will be required for Yoshikawa's autograph session.

In addition, Kodansha Comics will release an app for Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches in time with Yoshikawa's appearance at Anime Expo. The app will contain the manga and special messages from Yoshikawa to her English-speaking fans. Kodansha Advanced Media will release more details on the app as the event approaches.

Crunchyroll also announced last week that it will feature a concert by chiptune rock-band Anamanaguchi with a mystery guest on July 2.

Anamanaguchi will hold the concert at the Microsoft Theater on July 3 at 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Online tickets are currently on sale, and Crunchyroll Premium+ members can avail of free tickets to the concert for the Loge section of the Microsoft Theater, or tickets to other sections at discounted prices. The concert is only open to Anime Expo badge holders.

Anime Expo will also host Studio Trigger's Hiroyuki Imaishi and Yoh Yoshinari (who will present Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade), Danganronpa game writer and designer Kazutaka Kodaka, rock band Wagakki Band, Vocaloid diva IA, voice actresses Tomoyo Kurosawa and Yumiri Hanamori, idol group Momoiro Clover Z along with members of American rock band KISS, manga artist Julietta Suzuki, Cannon Busters director LeSean Thomas, Satelight's Thomas Romain, light novel illustrator Luna Tsukigami, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni creator Ryukishi07, Guilty Gear game developer Daisuke Ishiwatari, Spice & Wolf light novel author Isuna Hasekura, director Naokatsu Tsuda at the English dub premiere of his JoJo's Bizarre Adventure television anime, Visual Art's/Key artist Itaru Hinoue, voice actress Ayako Kawasumi, the staff of the Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works television anime, Mega Man co-creator Keiji Inafune, and Studio 4°C founder Eiko Tanaka.

This year's Anime Expo will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 2 to July 5.
