Higurashi, Umineko, Ōkamikakushi games inspired anime series

Anime Expo announced on April 21 that it will host game creator Ryukishi07 at its July 2-5 convention in Los Angeles. Ryukishi07 will represent the doujin circle 07th Expansion at the convention. He will appear at the MangaGamer Panel, "Now and Future of Visual Novels," in addition to signing autographs.

Ryukishi07 is the scenario writer for the doujin circle's Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, and Rose Gun Days games. He previously worked with Peach-Pit and Konami to create Ōkamikakushi mystery adventure novel.

The Higurashi no Naku Koro ni horror games inspired two television anime series, multiple original video anime, a live-action film, and manga series. Umineko no Naku Koro ni and Ōkamikakushi were also adapted into anime series. Yen Press releases many of the manga adaptations in North America and MangaGamer released the original Higurashi games in English.

Ryukishi07 recently attended the Anime Central convention in Illinois in May.

Anime Expo will also host Guilty Gear creator Daisuke Ishiwatari, as well as voice actors Ben Diskin and Kyle Hebert.

The convention will be held July 2-5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
