Anime Expo announced on Wednesday that Arc System Works developer Daisuke Ishiwatari will appear at this year's convention as a guest of honor. Daisuke Ishiwatari last appeared in Anime Expo in 2009, along with fellow Arc System Works developer Toshimichi Mori.
Daisuke Ishiwatari created Arc System Works' Guilty Gear fighting game series by developing the first game and designing the characters. He has since served as general director of the series. He also composed the music for the series, as well as provided the voice for the series' protagonist Sol Badguy. Most recently, he served as general director and music composer of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, the latest game in the series, which Aksys Games released in North America on December 16. He has also composed music for other Arc System Works titles such as the Blazblue fighting game series and Hard Corps: Uprising.
Anime Expo will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 2 to July 5.
