Koei Tecmo's PS4/PS3 game ships in Japan with limited edition on October 1

Koei Tecmo Games began streaming the first promotional video on Wednesday for the Arslan Senki x Musou PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 game. The promo reveals gameplay footage for the first time, and introduces the four confirmed playable characters.

Koei Tecmo Games and Omega Force are developing the Warriors-style game based on Hiromu Arakawa and Yoshiki Tanaka's The Heroic Legend of Arslan manga. Players will be able to reenact scenes from the manga in the game. The game's story will start with the battle of Atropatene. Confirmed playable characters so far include Arslan, Daryun, Narsus, and Elam.

The game was originally slated to ship in Japan on September 17, but it has been delayed until October 1.

The game's regular edition will retail for 7,800 yen (about US$63), and the download edition will retail for 6,762 yen (US$54). Koei Tecmo Games will also release a "Treasure Box" edition of the game that will come with the following: an original soundtrack CD, an "Official Settings Documents Collection," a crystal frame stand, and a cleaner cloth. The Treasure Box edition retails for 12,800 yen (US$103). Pre-orders for the game started on June 11.

The first editions of both versions of the game will come with a serial code for a special costume and a weapon for Daryun.

Koei Tecmo's Musou action game franchise includes Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and Warriors Orochi. Other collaborative games in the franchise have included Dynasty Warriors Gundam, One Piece: Pirate Warriors, and Hyrule Warriors.
