This year's 39th issue of Kodansha's Young Magazine revealed on Monday that Shuuichi Shigeno's MF Ghost manga will launch in the next issue on September 4. The first chapter will include an opening color page and will have 40 pages.
Kodansha launched a Twitter account for the manga on Monday, which posted a preview image for the manga.
The series will take place in the 2020s, when self-driving cars are ubiquitous in Japan. The series will feature a genius driver who goes back to Japan after graduating top of his class at a racing school in England.
Shigeno recently ended his Sailor Ace manga on April 3. Shigeno launched the manga in June 2015 and Kodansha published the sixth and final volume on June 6.
Shigeno ended his Initial D manga in Young Magazine in July 2013, and Tokyopop published the beginning of that manga in North America. The manga inspired several television anime series, a live-action film, several original video anime projects, and a successful game line. The manga recently inspired a trilogy of anime films, the third of which opened in February 2016.
