Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs Manga Gets Anime

Manga also gets collaboration with Man-gatarō this month

This year's 50th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Tadahiro Miura's Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs (Yuragi-sō no Yūna-san) manga is getting an anime adaptation.

The magazine didn't reveal the anime's format, but did state that Shueisha will reveal "broadcast information" and cast details in the magazine's later issues and at the Jump Festa '18 event on December 16-17. The manga will have a stage presentation at the event.

The magazine also announced that Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs will get a collaboration with manga artist Man-gatarō (Gatarō Man) in the Jump Giga magazine on November 24.

Weekly Shonen Jump's 49th issue had teased a "big announcement" for the manga. The official website for Jump Festa '18 listed "Yuragi-sō no Yūna-san Production Committee" with Shueisha and Miura as copyright holders.

Miura launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2016. The "odd story between a physical ghost buster and his ghost roommate" centers on a young man who encounters the ghost of a young girl at a creepy hot spring guesthouse. Shueisha published the manga's eighth volume on November 2. According to the 50th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, the first eight volumes have more than 1.5 million copies in print.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the series and plans to release the first volume on March 6. Miura's manga and Kotaro Shono's World’s End Harem (Shūmatsu no Harem) are the first two new license acquisitions for the company's new mature reader manga imprint called Ghost Ship.
