Production Committee

: 作委員会
A Production Committee is a corporation that brings together numerous companies to invest in and co-produce an anime. The rights to the anime, including copyright, are usually held by the production committee (ie: the production committee could be said to "own" the anime). Typical production committee members can include a distribution company (eg: Aniplex, Toho, Kadokawa), a TV studio (eg: TV Tokyo), a music company, a merchandise company, an ad network, the animation studio and overseas licensees.
