New net anime series premieres on January 20

Takara Tomy announced at an event on Saturday that its Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Kidō Kyūkyū Keisatsu (Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Mobile Emergency Police) anime series is getting an anime film that will premiere in August 2018. The film will be an all-new work.

Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Kidō Kyūkyū Keisatsu is the first television anime inspired by Takara Tomy's long-running Tomica line of miniature toy cars. The anime premiered in Japan on April 15, and is ongoing.

The Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Animation anime will take over the show's Saturday at 7:00 a.m. timeslot on TBS starting on January 6. Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Kidō Kyūkyū Keisatsu will launch a new net anime series starting on January 20. New episodes of the new series will debut online on the third Saturday of every month on the "Drive Head TV" and "Takara Tomy Channel" services.

The story of Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Kidō Kyūkyū Keisatsu is set in "the future, just a little after the present day." To respond to disasters beyond human comprehension and the increasing complexity of crime and mishaps, the mobile emergency police Hyper Rescue (an organization newly formed by the government primarily for life-saving) developed 'Drive Heads' that are specialized with police, fire-fighting, and rescue capabilities.

The Drive Heads are special vehicles that change from car forms to humanoid walking vehicles. Grade school student Gō Kurumada and others who are suitable become drivers and join forces with the mobile emergency police and other adults.

Takao Kato (Duel Masters Victory V3, Over Drive, Zoids) is directing the anime at OLM and XEBEC. Kenichi Araki (MegaMan NT Warrior, Ryūsei no Rockman Tribe, Duel Masters Victory V3) is in charge of series composition. Takumo Norita (Major: Yūjō no Winning Shot, Pandora Hearts, Tokyo ESP animation director) is the character designer.
