sho.t's Snack World Manga Ends Serialization

posted on by April
Volume 2 out for sale March 12

This year's April issue of Shogakukan's Shōnen Sunday S magazine published the final chapter of sho.t's manga adaptation of Level 5's The Snack World game last Friday. The second and final volume of the manga will ship on March 12.

Based on the Nintendo 3DS/Android/iOS game, the manga follows a young boy, Chup, who sets out on a quest of revenge after his village is destroyed to make space for a large-scale leisure center.

The series debuted on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry website in April 2017 before also launching in Shogakukan's Shōnen Sunday Super magazine in May 2017.

The game and manga are part of the new Snack World franchise from Level 5. The "hyper casual fantasy" franchise is set in Snack World, a seemingly traditional fantasy world — except it has convenience stores, smartphones, and other elements of the modern world. Level 5 previously streamed the project's pilot film in both Japanese and English audio in 2015, and a short film similarly debuted alongside both the 2015 and 2016 Yōkai Watch films.

The Snack World - Trejarers Nintendo 3DS game shipped last August, and a Nintendo Switch version will launch in Japan on April 12.

The franchise has a television anime that premiered on April 13. OLM Digital, Inc. is animating the series. A film is in the works that will open in TOHO theaters across Japan.
