Thunderbolt Fantasy Puppet Show's 2nd Season Premieres in October (Updated With Video)

New season includes characters Rōfu Yō, Shō Kyō Ken, Katsueiraku from film

The staff of the second season of the Thunderbolt Fantasy puppet-show series announced on Saturday that the second season, titled Thunderbolt Fantasy: Tōriken Yūki 2, will premiere in October.

The staff also revealed visuals for the characters Rōfu Yō, Shō Kyō Ken, and Katsueiraku, who also appeared in last December's Thunderbolt Fantasy: The Sword of Life and Death (Thunderbolt Fantasy Shōshi Ikken) film. Takanori Nishikawa voices the character Rōfu Yō, and also served as the model for the character.

The staff is returning from the first season.

Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, Psycho-Pass, Aldnoah.Zero) was credited with the first season's original work, and he also wrote the scripts and served as chief supervisor. Nitroplus was credited with the character designs, and Good Smile Company was credited as the "modeling adviser." PILI Multimedia Inc., a well-known hand puppet drama production company in Taiwan, produced the series. Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Aldnoah.Zero, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) composed the music and Yoshikazu Iwanami was the sound director. T.M. Revolution performed the theme song "Raimei." The first season premiered in July 2016 and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.

The Thunderbolt Fantasy: The Sword of Life and Death film opened in Japan last December, and Crunchyroll began streaming the film in February.
