1st volume of manga that inspired 2 anime series slated for next spring

Viz Media announced on Saturday that it has licensed Sorata Akiduki's Snow White with the Red Hair (Akagami no Shirayuki-hime) manga. The first volume is slated for release in spring 2019.

Viz Media describes the story:

Shirayuki is an herbalist with bright red hair. Raj, the prince of her kingdom, catches word of her beauty and demands that she marry him! But she refuses and runs away. While on the run, she meets a mysterious brave young man named Zen who turns out to be the prince of the neighboring kingdom. Zen insists that Shirayuki moves to his kingdom and so her journey to become a court herbalist begins!

Akiduki began the manga in Hakusensha's LaLa magazine in its September 2006 issue, and Hakusensha published the 19th volume in Japan on June 5. As of June the manga had 4.4 million copies in print.

The manga inspired two television anime seasons and an original anime DVD that bundled with the manga's fifth volume. Funimation Entertainment streamed the 2015-2016 anime as it aired with subtitles and later streamed the series with a Broadcast Dub. The company also released the anime series in North America in 2016-2017. Additionally, Anime Limited released the series in the United Kingdom, and Madman Entertainment released the series in Australia.
