posted on by Andrew Osmond
Also Angelic Layer Blu-ray, Kiznaiver and numerous other titles

On Monday September 24, Anime Limited will release a Collectors Blu-ray edition of the Kyoto Animation series Sound! Euphonium. It will contain the 13 episodes of the first TV season, the OVA episode 14, an O-card sleeve and a 52-page book with art and designs from the series.

The series is subtitled only. Anime Limited describes the story: 'After the disappointment of defeat in a major competition during her final year in middle school, brass band music has lost its lustre for Kumiko as she enters high school. Despite vowing to leave music behind and make a fresh start, peer pressure from her new-found friends sees Kumiko once again taking up the Euphonium for Kitauji High School's band club.

'With an ambitious new club advisor at their helm the pressure is on for the club to qualify for the national tournament, but this lofty goal only serves to highlight the fractured relationships between cliques within the group's existing members. As Kumiko struggles to make sense of this unrest, her attention is inexorably drawn towards former classmate and current club mate, the enigmatic Reina.'

MVM will release the first 26-part TV season of the series When They Cry - Higurashi. MVM describes the series:

'Moving to the picturesque town of Hinamizawa is going to be a big adjustment for Keiichi. For all its beauty, it's also tiny... so small that there's only one school, one where most of the students have known each other all their lives.

'Fortunately, he soon meets four girls... Rena, Mion, Satoko, and Rika, who're willing to let the new guy in town join their afterschool club. And for a while, things seem wonderful. Until Keiichi starts discovering strange things, like the project manager for a controversial dam project being found dismembered five years ago.

'As he digs deeper, there are whispers and rumors of other murders and disappearances, stories of a town curse, and mysterious rituals.'

Anime Limited will release the 26-part series Angelic Layer as a Collectors Blu-ray, including a 40-page booklet featuring art from the series. Angelic Layer was originally broadcast in 2001, animated by Studio Bones and based on a CLAMP manga.

Anime Limited summarised the film as follows: '“From the moment twelve-year-old Misaki Suzuhara arrives in Tokyo to live with her aunt, she finds herself swept away by the amazing world of Angelic Layer – a fast-paced, high-tech game where dolls called Angels are controlled by the thoughts of their operator.

;Discovering that her new friends are as interested in Angelic Layer as she is, Misaki builds her own Angel and begins competing in battles where will and determination count far more than size and strength. Can Misaki handle the pressure of the national championships while struggling to adapt to life in an unfamiliar city?“

Anime Limited will also release the Studio Trigger series Kiznaiver as a Collectors Blu-ray, including a 40-page art book. Anime Limited describes the story:

'Even within the confines of the futuristic Sugomori City, Katsuhira Agata is a very unique high school boy – someone who simply cannot feel any pain whatsoever. Bullied and isolated, his world is set to shift seismically when he meets a strange girl named Noriko Sonozaki.

'Before he knows it, Agata has been linked to a number of his classmates as part of a group created to share any pain each of them feels via a system known as “Kiznaiver”. Tasked with various trials by Sonozaki as they serve as guinea pigs under the Kiznaiver system, could Agata and his new comrades' experiences be the key to their own self-discovery?'

MVM will release the first volume of the The Asterisk War, carrying the first 12 parts of the series. MVM described the story:

'Invertia - The astral catastrophe that annihilated many cities in the 20th century also gave birth to a new human race with special powers called the "Genestella." At the same time, the special element found within the meteors of Invertia facilitated humanity's technological advancement.

'At the academic-city above water Rikka, also known as "Asterisk," students from each of the six schools at Asterisk prepare for the ultimate battle tournament -- known as "Festa." Seidoukan Academy's Ayato Amagiri takes up the challenge along with his partner Julis, a.k.a. Glühen Rose, the Witch of the Resplendent Flames. Ayato learns Julis has a big dream to achieve and decides to protect her to the end.'

MVM will also release the first volume of Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works on Blu-ray. MVM describes the story:

'The Holy Grail War has begun. An ancient ritual, seven masters and their seven holy spirits fight to the death. It's said the winner who possesses the Holy Grail is granted any wish they desire. Rin Tohsaka has been training to become a master her whole life, just like her father. Rin and her servant Archer form an unlikely bond with Emiya Shirou who finds himself becoming the master of Saber, one of the most powerful servants in the Holy Grail War. Working together they have to survive knowing only one master can remain. Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin and Berserker.

'Who of these seven heroic spirits will earn the mythical Holy Grail and what will they wish for?'
