Tenka Hyakken Sword Girl Media Franchise Get Short Anime Project

The cast of the Tenka Hyakken -Zan- smartphone action role-playing game appeared at an event on Saturday to celebrate the game's second anniversary, and the event ended with an announcement that a short anime adaptation project has launched.
The Tenka Hyakken franchise centers around the "Mitsurugi," maidens who are physical incarnations of ancient swords. They have pledged to live peaceful lives after the era of warfare, but are now returning to battle to fight a new foe that has arisen during an alternate version of the Meiji Era, three hundred years after the Battle of Sekigahara. (The franchise uses different kanji characters for Meiji, which roughly translates as "legendary rule" as a wordplay on swordsmiths' mei signatures on their handiwork.)
The following voice cast members appeared at the event:
- Yūko Ōno as Jōizumi Masamune
- Rie Takahashi as Kuwana Gō
- Haruka Chisuga as Goō Yoshimitsu
- Hitomi Ohwada as Kogarasumaru
- Haruka Shiraishi as Nanaka, Yayoi
- Aoi Koga as Inaba Gō
- Amina Satō as Kōsetsu Samonji
- Minami Shinoda as Sōza Samonji
- Sawako Hata as Sayo Samonji
Kadokawa's Dengeki G's Magazine unveiled the multimedia franchise in June 2015, and the Tenkan Hyakken -Zan- game launched on April 20, 2017. The franchise also inspired several manga and novel titles in the various Dengeki magazines and imprints.
