English trailer previews smartphone tactical role-playing game

Square Enix announced during its Square Enix Live E3 presentation on Monday that the War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: Genei Sensō) smartphone tactical role-playing game will get a worldwide release. The presentation also revealed an English trailer for the game.

The game is slated to release this year. Pre-registration is available now in Japan, and if pre-registrations meet 500,000, those who pre-register will receive the character Y'shtola as she appears in the "Shadowbringers" expansion of Final Fantasy XIV. The game will be free to play with optional in-game purchases.

Square Enix released the original Final Fantasy Brave Exvius smartphone game in Japan in October 2015. The game launched in North America in June 2016. The game is now available in six languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Korean.

Gumi subsidiary A-Lim developed Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius, and it draws inspiration from A-Lim's previous Brave Frontier smartphone game. The game features art by Yoshitaka Amano. Players form five-character parties composed of characters from the Final Fantasy franchise and tackle dungeons, with the ultimate goal of defeating bosses, gaining experience, and earning money.
