Shōnen Hollywood Launches Crowdfunding for Audio 'Recital' Sequel to TV Anime

Project reunites anime's main cast to read Shōnen Hollywood - Holly Stage for 51 sequel stories

Hollywood Factory launched a Makuake crowdfunding campaign for "sequel recitals to the Shōnen Hollywood TV anime" project. The project seeks to raise 5 million yen (about US$46,200) to fund a recording of the anime's main cast reading all seven stories in the Shōnen Hollywood - Holly Stage for 51 storyline. If funded, the recording would run over two hours long. The campaign will end on August 30.

The Shōnen Hollywood - Holly Stage for 51 stores follow the main characters after the events of the anime, and they debuted through the franchise's "Future Orange" fan club beginning in July 2015.

The crowdfunding project would reunite the cast members Tetsuya Kakihara, Ryota Ohsaka, Kenshō Ono, Shōta Aoi, Daiki Yamashita, and Masashi Nitta.

The Shōnen Hollywood anime series is inspired by Hashiguchi's mixed-media project Shōnen Hollywood and is produced by anime studio ZEXCS (Diabolik Lovers, Cuticle Detective Inaba) and the music label Starchild Records. Funimation streamed both Shōnen Hollywood anime seasons as they aired in Japan in 2014 and 2015.

Shōnen Hollywood: Holly Stage for You Complete Edition, the hour-long expanded version of the final episode of the Shōnen Hollywood - Holly Stage for 50 television anime, had its North American premiere at the Los Angeles Anime Film Festival last September. It was also funded by a crowdfunding campaign that sought 15,000,000 yen (about US$133,793) for the production. The campaign eventually raised 59,582,000 yen (about US$528,000).
