Medialink Opens 1st Haikyu!! Final Film in Malaysia on May 16

Malaysian cinema chain GSC Movies began streaming an English-subtitled trailer for screening HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle, the first film in the two-part Haikyu!! Final sequel film project, on Monday. The trailer reveals that Medialink will open the film in Malaysia on May 16.

MediaLink will also screen the film in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and India. Medialink also opened the film in Hong Kong and Macau on April 11, and in Taiwan on April 12.

The film premiered in Japan on February 16 and is also screening in IMAX. Susumu Mitsunaka (first, third Haikyu!! television anime) both directed and wrote the script for the film.

The film has sold a total of 6.83 million tickets sold for 9,776,560,030 yen (about US$63.17 million) as of April 21.

The film sold 1,529,000 tickets and earned 2,230,465,540 yen (about US$14.83 million) in its first three days of screening.
