While creating the manga the author consulted with a Dr. Tsukasa Mizushima, a professor at University of Tokyo who's research centers on the socio-economic history of India from the late 18th century till today.
Innami launched the manga in the August issue of Kodansha's Monthly Young Magazine in July 2023. It follows a fictionalized version ancient Indian emperor Chandragupta Maurya and his royal adviser Kautilya. The first chapter is titled "Two Heroes." Kodansha's Young Maga website released chapters of the manga in Japanese as they came out in the magazine. The company is yet to release the manga in other languages but the Japanese version is available in India.
