Laftel, the anime-focused streaming platform in Korea, will release its new original animated series Dragon Girl on October 3.

Based on the webtoon of the same name created by by Olso, Dragon Girl follows Yongman Kim, the rebellious daughter of the Dragon King, who flees an arranged marriage under the sea to forge her own destiny. She enrolls in a human high school with one mission: to become the top student. But her goal is immediately challenged by Hae-soo Shim, the current number one, who has no intention of stepping aside.

The animated series will also screen at the Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF) on October 25, marking Laftel's first time presenting an in-house production at an international festival.

The webtoon originally debuted on Naver Webtoon on December 22, 2020, and has published 87 episodes to date. It went on hiatus on March 18, 2025, due to the creator's health concerns, and a return date has not been announced.

LAFTEL has not confirmed any plans for a global release.
