Manga creator Akiko Higashimura revealed on her X/Twitter account last week that the live-action series of her Tokyo Tarareba Girls manga will stream on Netflix in the United States, Europe, and Asia beginning on October 22. Netflix is currently listing the series.

Kodansha USA Publishing released the original manga digitally in English, and it describes the manga:

"I spent all my time wondering 'what if,' then one day I woke up and I was 33." She's not that bad-looking, but before she knew it, Rinko was thirty-something and single. She wants to be married by the time the Tokyo Olympics roll around in six years, but...that might be easier said than done! The new series by Akiko Higashimura erupts with sharp opinions on girls and tons of laughs!!

The live-action series premiered in 2017, and a television special premiered in summer 2020.

Higahshimura launched the manga in in Kodansha's Kiss magazine in March 2014 and ended it in April 2017. Kodansha published the ninth and final compiled book volume in July 2017. Higashimura later drew three new "side story" chapters in Kiss in 2018 that Kodansha released in compiled book form under the title Tokyo Tarereba Girls Returns in March 2019. Kodansha USA Publishing published Tokyo Tarereba Girls Returns in English digitally in October 2020.

Higashimura launched the Tokyo Tarareba Girls Season 2 manga in Kiss in April 2019, and ended it in September 2021. The manga centers on a new protagonist, a part-time worker at a library. Kodansha USA Publishing released all six volumes of the manga under the title Tokyo Tarareba Girls Returns 2.

The original manga won the Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia award at the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards in 2019
