Shinden Trailer at Big Apple National Expo

SON OF SPEED RACER…sort of

Crash Media Group presents first globally launched anime Shiden at Big Apple National Expo, Sunday, November 20.

Shiden, the first Japanese anime (animated TV series) created for the world market is the brainchild of Kimio Ikeda, co-creator and producer of Speed Racer and many other popular Japanese cartoons. The premiere showing of its trailer and a clip from the series will be this Sunday at 1:30 PM as part of the Big Apple Nation Expo, the east coast's largest comic book/sci-fi/pop culture convention.

The story of Shiden involves, a boy, true love, and a time traveling car. That this anime is being released simultaneously workdwide is a breakthrough for the industry. “I did not want something that would only be available in Japan and then for the resto f the world as a second thought.” Says Mr. Ikeda.

At the screening attendees will be rewarded with free giveaways to promote the series, and one lucky attendee will win a genuine production cell from the film.

The Big Apple National Expo, which runs from Fiday, November 18 through Sunday Novem,ber 20, will also feature many significant guests from movies, television, comic books, and pop culture, including Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia, Star Wars), Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), and Jamie Waylett (Vincent Crabbe) from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Peter Tork of The Monkees, Ray Park (Darth Maul, Star Wars, Ep. I), Daniel Logan (young BoBA Fett, Star Wars, Ep. II), Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica), and Debbie Rochon (Troma Films).

A large component of the Expo is the dealer's room, where hundreds of dealers will be selling and trading rare, valuable, and popular comics, toys, art, memorabilia, videos, and more.

The Big Apple Convention is located at the Penn Plaza Pavilion, at 401 7th Ave and 33rd St, right across the street from Penn Station in New York City. Tickets are $15 per day or $40 for all three days (with early admission on Friday).
