Anime Matsuri's Hawaii Debut

For the first time ever, Anime Matsuri will be held in the Hawai'i Convention Center on Thanksgiving weekend from November 27-29. This convention will proudly promote Japanese culture to our attendees with panels and workshops, a Lolita Tea Party, Maid Cafe, a Concert, and Cosplay Fashion Show.

In 2014, Anime Matsuri (Houston) became the 9th largest Anime Convention in North America with over 19,000 attendees (AnimeCons.com). When Anime Matsuri was first created in Houston, Texas in 2007, it had just over 4000 attendees. Since then, it has grown exponentially into one of the country's largest conventions, entertaining over 24,000 attendees in 2015. Anime Matsuri will have a long list of guests who will be seen on panels, hosting events, and giving fans an experience they will not soon forget. Two prominent guests of Anime Matsuri Honolulu will be Reika and Stella Chuu.

Reika: With over 18 years of cosplay experience and over 500 costumes, Reika will be the representative of Japanese Cosplay at the convention.

Stella Chuu: A cosplayer and burlesque performer from NYC. By mixing pop culture and striptease together, she creates unique performances that are sure to make your jaw drop. Dubbed the Anime Princess of Burlesque, Stella has toured all across the country.

This will be the first time many of our guests will be in Hawaii. For Hawai'i residents, this will be an opportunity to meet and learn from some of the industry's biggest names. These include:
