Anime USA Welcomes John Ratzenberger to Washington D.C

At the Marriott Wardman Park to talk about his many popular roles for Disney and Pixar.

Friday October 19th through Sunday October 21st, Anime USA is honored to welcome none other than the legendary John Ratzenberger to kick off their inaugural western animation track! John is recognized by kids of all ages for being the only voice actor to be a surprise character in every single Pixar film. He can currently be heard in the new film Coco and will be reprising his role as The Underminer in The Incredibles 2.

Star Wars fans worldwide know John for his role as Major Derlin in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Those same fans will recognize him from another huge franchise; Superman 1 & 2! Horror fans remember him from House II and Motel Hell, films which are on the opposite side of the spectrum compared to what kids know him for today! John is best known for playing mail carrier Cliff Clavin on the popular sitcom Cheers. He read for the part of Norm Peterson, but sensing they weren't going to give him the part, he asked if they had written a “bar know-it-all” into the series, which the producers decided was a great idea. Cliff became known for his outlandish stories of plausible half‐truths, irrelevant trivia, ignorant misinformation, and was known for being an overall pretentious blowhard.

Other notable voice credits include:

2018: Incredibles 2
Underminer (voice)

2017: Coco
Juan Ortodoncia (voice)

2016: Finding Dory
Husband Crab (Bill) (voice)

2015: The Good Dinosaur
Earl (voice)

2015: Inside Out
Fritz (voice)

John will be at Anime USA to talk about his path into the business, his longevity and how others can forge a voice acting career. He will also sign autographs and maybe host a Q and A session or two.
