Anime-Inspired Streetwear Brand Hypland Announces Opening of Debut Retail Store in Little Tokyo
Los Angeles, CA (June 3, 2024) – Los Angeles-based streetwear brand HYPLAND is proud to announce the opening of the brand's first-ever retail store. The space will open to the public on Saturday June 8th in the heart of Little Tokyo. Founded by LA native Jordan Bentley in 2014, HYPLAND has quickly become a favorite amongst anime, gaming, and streetwear fans looking for one of a kind pieces inspired by their favorite shows and series.
HYPLAND will be a community space where gamers, anime fans, and streetwear enthusiasts can play, shop and connect. Designed to replicate the cozy ambiance of an anime and gaming fan's home, visitors will find an inviting assortment of vintage home accessories, gaming equipment, and clothing items. The retail area of the store will include apparel and accessories from past collaborations, as well as new items from HYPLAND's premium cut & sew line. Additionally, the store will feature products from similar brands, providing a comprehensive shopping experience.
For the design elements of the space, brand founder Jordan Bentley hand sourced vintage coffee table books, manga magazines, and anime statues from fan-favorite shows and series. The store will also have games for visitors to play, which will include chess sets, PS5s, GameCubes, N64s, and arcade machines. In the future, the store will host community events such as gaming tournaments, anime movie and game nights, live tattooing, and more, turning the space into a destination cultural hub. Events will be hosted by famous cosplayers, streamers, and gamers, further enhancing the community experience.
"As HYPLAND has expanded over the years, it was important to me to create a place where our community could come together in person,” says founder Jordan Bentley. “Anime has this amazing way of connecting people worldwide, and Little Tokyo just felt like the perfect place to start that community here in LA."
